September 14th, 2004 San Antonio, Spain

We went to San Antonio on the morning of Saturday the 11th. We intended to stay there for three nights. But someone or something did not want us to leave.

Monday, we took it easy. After dinner, we wandered down to the ferry station so that we could arrange to take the ferry home the next day. Unfortunately, the ferry station was closed. It opened again at 4am. We asked some girl working at the bar there when we should come. She suggested 6am.

6am on Tuesday, Sean and I woke up painfully and walked down to the ferry. In San Antonio, 6am is last call. It was like walking downtown at 2am. Loud drunk people lined the streets, and many bars were still open. When we got to the ferry station, we painfully discovered that it was closed. It was only open from 4am until 6am. It opened again but later, but our ferry was leaving at 10am so there was no way it would work out.

We decided to make a day of it anyway instead of moping around, so we went out on this Glass Bottom Boat around San Antonio Bay. There isn't a whole lot obvious on the floor of the bay, so a scuba diver went down and got some different sea creatures to bring up and show us. The was even a shellfish right on the boat. I spotted it peaking out of an old man's short shorts. At the end of the trip, we all passed around a bottle of wine in a spanish glass that we took turns drinking from.

That night, for some insane reason, we went out and had our rowdiest night yet. We had to get up to leave at 10am, but somehow that was the furthest thing from our minds. Nonetheless, it was a lot of fun. We hung out the only people you find in San Antonio -- drunk Brits.
