This was perfect because then I was able to see and take pictures of the most scenic sights through Switzerland. There were so many mountains and lakes, and I had no idea how close we would actually get to it all.
Interlaken is between two lakes, surrounded by mountains. Everywhere you look is overwhelmingly scenic. The town itself is fairly simple and small, and completely geared to tourism. Though I've never been there, I imagine Banff to be a similar town. People come here for the adventure sports like paragliding, this insane sport called Zorbing where you roll around inside a transparent sphere down the mountain, and all the other things you would expect around mountains.
For lunch, for fun, we ate at Hooters. The prices were ridiculous, like 15 Swiss Francs (CFr) which is around $17 Canadian for a burger. We realised we would have to take advantage of the kitchen in our hostel and buy some groceries while we were here.
Today we mostly lounged around.. I have perfect free highspeed wireless Internet in my room, so although the outdoors is so amazing, it's hard to get out there!
