Today was quite the day. Definitely the most visually intense and overall fun and eventful day we've had so far. We went out hiking in the Swiss Alps. I'm staying in a dorm room with four other people: Dharminder, Fathima, Natasha and Anuj. They have just finished their masters in biology in England and have come here to celebrate and relax. It just so happened we all wanted to do the same things while we were here so we decided to do them together.

Everything about the Swiss Alps is overwhelmingly scenic, and no photograph can possibly capture the whole thing. Photos can only capture a small frame, but at any given moment, your whole field of view is full of mountains and houses and grass and sky and clouds and if you look around you theres even more to see. I often took four pictures from a single point of view to try and capture it all but even still it didn't quite do it.

We had a certain trail in mind that was supposed to take three hours.. but since we're incredibly slow walkers and we didn't leave until after 12pm, we didn't quite have time for all we planned for. We walked between the mountains for a while, eating apples and pears off the trees we passed. We stopped at this place where a waterfall runs through inside a mountain.. That's where my camera batteries died though. Luckily Fathima also had a digital camera and let me have her pictures.. so alongside here I have pictures from my camera and then pictures from hers, so they are a bit out of order.

After the waterfall we crossed this stream of ice cold water. I filled my bottle up with this mountain glacier water and drank it all day.. it was perfectly clear, cold, and tasted like bottled water.

As it was getting dark, we took a cable car train thing a kilometre up the mountain and spent some time up there.. Sean and I played this lifesize chess board. At the end of the day we were very tired and took it easy before passing out.
