October 23rd, 2004 Budapest, Hungary

In Budapest, we stayed in a small but comfortable hostel. There were only four rooms with about twenty beds, a small kitchen, and free internet on the hostel manager's computer.

We went to see a football (soccer) game. I forget the name of the team we watched, but it was supposedly the most followed and most successful team in Budapest. It wasn't in a big league or anything, but it was still really exciting. It was great having everyone around us screaming in Hungarian about rules we don't understand. The local team won, 5-0. The stadium apparently sat 18,000 people, but was only about two-thirds full.

That night, we went out bar hopping with half the people from the hostel. We ended up only stopping at two or three bars..all the pictures we took were at the last bar we ended up, where pints of beer were only something around $1 (we never did quite figure out the exchange rate). There were these two sketchy locals at the bar that joined us for much of the night: some guy who kissed Sean, and some girl that was half passed out the whole time we hung out with her (some say she was even talking at one point). When we got back to the hostel, we hung out with the manager for a bit, and kept up everyone else at the hostel who hadn't joined us that night.
